CRAIG STADLER

Craig Stadler is one of the most recognizable players in U.S. golf, and has enjoyed huge success since turning professional in 1975. Craig broke through with two tournament victories in 1980, and followed those wins with a superstar season in 1982. Four tournament titles including playoff victories in both the Masters and the World Series of Golf. He also earned the Arnold Palmer Award as the leading money winner.

Throughout his career, Stadler has performed consistently in the U.S., collecting several top ten finishes in each season, and remaining among the top money winner each year. Stadler also has had success outside the United States, collecting victories in events such as the 1990 Scandinavian Enterprise Open on the European Tour, and in 1987 at the Dunlop Phoenix tournament in Japan. Craig has also been selected as a member of the U.S. Ryder Cup twice, in 1983 and 1985.

Most Tour players have a solid amateur and collegiate history, and Craig is no exception, starting golf at the age of five under his father’s guidance. Able to play year-round in Southern California, Craig was soon competing in amateur events, and earned the World Junior title in 1971.

Craig was a two-time All-American for the University of Southern California, and during his college years he also captured the 1973 U.S. Amateur championship at Inverness in Toledo Ohio.
